• LUMI Light Up My Islands Festival will be held on the 22nd of June, which is the Winter Solstice. All island residents are invited to join in and encourage any ideas and opportunities to make that happen. Including holding lantern making and lantern decorating workshops etc….
AB FAB COMING: An exciting designer label fashion parade and auction, AB FAB is coming on Saturday, July 13, to be held at the Macleay Island Community Centre from 1-4 pm. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased via TryBooking.
• RPAC SHOWS COMING: Four Seasons Reimagined. Vivaldi’s masterpiece with Camerata the Queensland Chamber Orchestra. Wednesday, July 17, 7.30pm. SAND a Tapestry of Wonder Japanese drumming, Friday, June 21, 7.30pm
• MIAC INTERIM GALLERY TO CLOSE The MIAC Art Gallery is closing on June 24, This will allow the MIC committee to prepare for the opening of the new MIAC Gallery hopefully later in the year.
• RUSSELL ISLAND COMMUNITY ARTS (RICArts) – A community-based organisation offering Art, Sewing, Pottery, Ukulele, Mosaic, Writers Group and Craft sessions from Monday to Friday with gallery open on weekends too. • RICArts presents Trish Harris’s Mini Murals Exhibition continues until 4 June. This is your last chance to see this exhibition inspired by local flora and fauna.

• Repurpose, Recycle, Reuse Competition and Exhibition PLUS Workshops – Opening Event Saturday 29 June 3pm
Bernard and Bob’s Trash to Treasure workshops will be held each Saturday 9am to 12noon, June 2, 9 and 16 at a cost of $15 per person which includes materials. Learn from the masters of recycling. • SMBI COMMUNITY CONCERT BAND Our island community band started up in 2023 and is happy to welcome new players of all ages and levels on woodwind, brass, percussion and other instruments. • RICArts Members’ Autumn Exhibition runs until 14 May with all items being replaced as they are sold which keeps the exhibition fresh and changing each day. There is a combination of ceramics and paintings for sale – all at very affordable prices. Come and visit!

• TENNIS on Macleay and Lamb Islands
The Macleay and Lamb Islands' Tennis Club plays social tennis three times per week: 3pm Monday on Macleay; 4pm Tuesday on Lamb and 2pm or 3pm Thursday on Macleay. Cost is $2 per day. All welcome - our youngest player is 18, the eldest is 88. Send text to Graham 049 295 1458.
