FRED AND MARGARITA BROGDEN ‘RETIRE’ TO SENIOR PASTORAL ROLES

Fred and Margarita Brogden have been the founders and guiding lights to  the Safe Harbour Family Church on Russell Island for many years.

So, it was only natural that they would one day pass on  their island religious history and community legacy to the next generation.

The change from active pastors to senior pastor elders has been on-going for some time, particularly in the light of some of Fred’s well documented health issues with Parkinsons Disease.

Fortunately, some successful treatment has been to of great benefit, but it has not halted the transition process of the Safe Harbour island ministry.

The running of the church is now in the capable hands of Jason and Glenda Hare.

They have been part of the Safe Harbour Family Church for years and the new directions are allowing Fred And Margarita to bask in in the reflection of their extraordinary efforts.

Today the Safe Harbour Church contributes in many ways to the island community, particularly providing regular support and assistance via weekly grocery packages for islanders who need that additional help in feeding low-income families.
