REDLANDS ROADS

FEDERAL  GOVERNMENT PROVIDES $2.6 MILLION FOR REDLANDS ROADS

The Federal Government is providing over $2.6 million to Redland City Council to deliver 12 important local road and infrastructure projects across the Redlands community.

Working in partnership with Redland City Council, these projects will improve the safety of local roads, footpaths and cycleways, updating and repairing existing facilities, and supporting local jobs.

The 12 projects include: Maintenance of facilities at the Cleveland Aquatic Centre; Conservation repairs at Bayview Conservation Park and Scribbly Guma Mountain Bike tracks; Footbridge maintenance across the Redlands; Footpath and cycleway maintenance in non-CBD areas; City-wide management of grasses and other vegetation to maintain access routes for fire and maintenance vehicles and to limit impact on residential areas in the event of a wildfire; and Sealing of roads on Macleay Island: Brolga Street, Heron Street, Ibis Street, Noogie Street, Parakeet Street, Piccaninny Street, Sandpiper Parade.

These projects will make sure important community facilities are upgraded for the community to enjoy and improve access and safety across the Redlands.

The funding is delivered through Phase 4 of the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) program.
