REAL ESTATE MAN CHRIS MCGREGOR SELLING OUR ISLANDS TO A BIGGER AUDIENCE
Island real estate agent, Chris McGregor, has gained some major headlines for our islands in the metropolitan media.
In a recent edition of the Courier Mail via realestate.com.au, our islands were the subject of a major story titled $400k? Get out of town
The sub heading stated Brisbane fast losing affordability as bargain hunters forced to look further afield
The article identified Russell Island as ‘just one Brisbane suburb’ stating the median house price on the island is $392,000
The story also said that with the ‘current growth trajectory, that won’t last long’.
These and other remote destination figures were compared to $3 million for a median house at New Farm; a difference of $2.6 million!
Chris McGregor of Bay Islands property was quoted in the story stating that ‘last quarter sales has been incredible’
He quoted the median island price in September was $420,000, and by October it was $550,000.
Recent island buyers were coming to the islands from interstate and Brisbane.
Chris McGregor said our islands were faced with rapid change and the need for improved demographics including amenities and services.
PropTrack analysts commented that the days off finding affordable suburbs in Brisbane were ‘over’ with buyers pushing out to areas like Ipswich, Logan and Beaudesert.
