ISLAND ART UNION!

JURI KARTER WINS A NEW MG SUV CAR IN ISLAND ART UNION! Russell Island real estate veteran, Juri Karter, is the proud owner of a new MG SUV Juri received a shock when he was recently enjoying a card game at the Russell Island Bowls Club. He was told that he was ‘wanted outside’. It was where the big draw was going on for the Russell Island car art union was being held. The draw was carried out by LNP candidate for Bowman, Henry Pike. The winners were: 1st prize - Juri Karter; 2nd Prize - Liam Probers; 3rd prize Rob Dawes; 4th prize Steven Grant. Juri Karter was then handed the keys to the impressive vehicle, declaring it will be ‘my car for life’. In real terms, however, he will be handing over the car to wife Glen; a decision she is decidedly impressed with. The Art Union was originally established to help raise funds for the Russell Island RSL Club, but that was thrown into turmoil following the club’s shock closure in mid December, last year. Organiser, Kevin Kelly, had to change course with the major raffle on a number of occasions which naturally caused some confusion and concerns. Draws were originally scheduled for Australia Day and then Easter. However, it all came together when the draw was finally held at the Russell Island Bowls Club on Mother’s Day. Prizes and prize winners: First Prize; MG3 rrp $17,990 supplied by Oldmac MG Cleveland, Juri Karters. Second Prize; LG 420 Litre Bottom Mounted Refrigerator & Samsung Dishwasher rrp $1,990 supplied by The Good Guys Capalaba, Liam Probers.
