WENDY AND MEGAN WANT OUR ISLANDS TO ‘GET DANCING’

Wendy Frost and Megan Knight, whilst working together, decided they would buy property on Russell Island.

That was 12 years ago.

Both are now residents on Russell Island and recently they decided they wanted to find a ‘nice way’ to give back to the community they love.

And the concept they came up with as a ‘thank you’ was to organise a Family Community Dance on Russell Island.

To date there have been two successful dances in May and November 2024.

The decision was made that it was a little ‘hot’ for dancing over the summer months, so the next dance will be on Saturday, 3rd May 2025, at the Russell Island Recreation Hall, adjacent to the island jetty precinct..

The dance starts at 6.30pm with live music from Jon Jass and the Rustlers.

Supper is provided as is tea and coffee, with soft drinks available for purchase.

These dances are ‘alcohol free’ as it hoped that families will attend and children will see that fun can be had without alcohol being present.

There will be a cross section of dances with special dances for children.

Wendy and Megan reckon that even if you don't dance it is a fun night to meet new friends and to ‘get to know’ your community.

The admission price is $7.50 for adults and children under 12 are free. If any teenagers want to attend, a concession price is available for the ‘whole family’.

Please come and have a great night out and be part of the richness that is the SMB Islands.
