MEISSSNER STREET CAR PARK TO CLOSE FOR SATELLITE HOSPITAL CONSTRUCTION
Following the Queensland Government announcement that a new $40m
satellite hospital will be built in the Weinam Creek Priority Development
Area (PDA), the Meissner Street carpark will soon permanently closed to make way for
construction.
All vehicles must be removed from the site before Monday, 6 December.
People using this car park are advised to make used of the Moore Street car park or alternative parking options from this point onwards.
In late 2020 an additional 500 car parks were made available at the newly created
Moore’s Road car park, only a short walk from the Marina Ferry Terminal.
Redland City Council, in partnership with Redland Investment Corporation,
has a clear vision for the Weinam Creek PDA precinct that responds to the
community’s needs.
This will increase the amount of open space and car parking, provide for new pedestrian and cycle ways, rejuvenated parkland, retail, hospitality and medical precincts, and improve drop-off and storage facilities for island residents.
