BETTER ISLAND BUSINESS

ISLAND SELF STORAGE FOR SALE

Island Self Storage on Russell Island is for sale, and would be an ideal investment for someone who wants a good island business that is running well. The complex has changed dramatically in the past couple of years with the business being totally revamped and many additional storage areas created. The business is at 100% occupancy and there is definitely room for further expansion in the complex. The property generates a rent yield of almost 9% approx with strong prospects to develop further incomes. The storage complex and industrial units generates over $74,000 of income per annum for very little time and effort. There are two factory areas and 10 storage sheds split into a total of 29 incomes producing sheds with a waiting list of tenants. MACLEAY HARDWARE NEW SUPER TRUCK

Michelle and John of Macleay Island Hardware and Auto Marine now have a new ‘toy’ to play with. It is in the shape of a massive new tipper truck. The big truck is able to bring really big loads to the islands to primarily bring supplies to Macleay Hardware, but also to provide soil, gravel, sand and blend for any big orders on the islands. If you would like to find out more about John’s Big Truck, give Michelle a call on 3409 5666.

HYDROBATH 5TH BIRTHDAY

Time definitely flies! It certainly has for Sue and Keith of Hydrobath on Macleay Island. It seems only yesterday they started operations; last week they celebrated their 5th birthday with a very doggy birthday bash. The business has gone from strength to strength with Keith very popular with all the island dogs. They love him! It must be his fuzzy appearance! And Alan Bowers with the dog training is also in demand. A business like this does not grow and become popular for nothing. Sue and Keith genuinely love dogs and enjoy meeting a greeting all island dog owners. By the way, it was great to see Hydrobath’s very first clients, Dave and Kim Hill, turning up for the 5th birthday fun at Hydrobath next to the vet premises in Southsea Terrace.

BIG SKY SOLAR

A new business to the islands is Big Sky Solar. A new resident to Macleay Island and a Big Sky representative, Smiley Radnor Sansoni, has established a new office for Big Sky at the Emerald Isle Shopping Village. He can assist with all levels of solar and electrical information, including info about batteries and benefits and incentives that may now apply for island installations. Smiley really knows his solar stuff, having worked with the company for the past 12 years. You can call up and see him or contact him by phoning 0409 140 247 or email radnor@bigskyenergy.com.au

A SALLY AND ALLI STORY

The name for the health and beauty girls on Macleay Island, Sally and Alli is definitely ‘catchy’. Sally Swift with her massage and naturopathy skills blending with hair a beauty consultant Allison Burany at Emerald Isle Shopping Village, is going from strength to strength. So much so that Alli’s four-year-old granddaughter, Melanie, has been quite taken with the two familiar-sounding names. She rushed up to her grandmother the other day and declared: “I love Sally and Alli; which one are you?” Out of the mouths of babes . . . .
